The Office of Immigrant Affairs helps Nassau County’s large immigrant or foreign-born population navigate the criminal justice system, encouraging immigrants to cooperate with law enforcement, and providing aid to limited-English speakers who are witnesses to or victims of crimes.

OFFICE OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS

The Office of Community Affairs manages a range of community forums, coalitions, and the Nassau County Heroin Prevention Task Force. Community Affairs also manages youth programs, such as Operation Safe Child.

Office of CORE Services

The Office of CORE Services is charged with bringing NCDA’s family, victim, community and educational services to every corner of Nassau County, and centralizing NCDA’s victims’ services response office-wide. CORE's school-based and youth programming brings together educators, parents, and children of all ages to raise awareness about the challenges impacting Nassau youth, including internet safety and drunk driving. Created in November of 2018, the Office of CORE Services centralizes NCDA’s various community and educational outreach functions, to ensure that every school district, senior center, neighborhood watch, group home, and faith-based institution receives access to NCDA’s rich variety of presentations and programming.  

CORE also complements the vital quality assurance efforts of our offender-focused Office of Alternative Prosecution and Resources by gauging and overseeing the programs and services provided to our victims and witnesses.
