My Post (16)The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office offers opportunities for immersive internship programs for the fall and spring semesters, as well as an eight-week program during the summer. Interns are assigned to assistant district attorneys in any of twelve major bureaus, in either our Mineola or Hempstead locations, based on the needs of the office. Whenever possible, interns will assist the attorneys in preparing cases for grand jury presentations, hearings, trials, investigations, or appeals. The internship may also include performing legal research, as well as general clerical work such as filing or photocopying.

All internships are voluntary, unpaid positions; however, we endeavor to support students applying for grants or academic credit.

First and second-year legal interns who successfully complete their internship will be granted an initial interview during their third year of law school for an Assistant District Attorney position.
